Fabiana Elisa Martínez
FOUNDER - LEAD PROFESSOR - TRANSLATOR - INTERPRETER - VOICE OVER
Fabiana was born and grew up in Buenos Aires, Argentina. From a very young age, she showed a special interest in books and “words in other languages”. Fabiana graduated with Honors from the UCA University in Buenos Aires with a degree of Profesora en Letras (Linguistics and World Literature). She soon started teaching Spanish as a second language and perfected her method which she used to teach in renowned international companies as well as to professionals from various countries. Fabiana also works as a translator and interpreter and, at the present time, she teaches Spanish, English, French and Italian. Fabiana is a member of the Modern Language Association and the American Translators Association.
Among her other passions are theater, movies and radio broadcasting where she worked for some years as a theater critic and hosted numerous interviews. Fabiana brought her business to Dallas, Texas in 2002 and in addition to performing translation and interpretation for many renowned companies, institutions and radio shows, she widened the horizons of many professionals willing to learn languages properly, in a pleasant way and with lasting results.
In 2008, Fabiana also taught a class at Southern Methodist University for bilingual teachers. During 2011 two major events furthered Fabiana’s professional path: in April her internet project, spanish360withfabiana.com, was launched and in less than three months more than 50,000 podcasts for advanced students of Spanish were downloaded from all over the world. In November, Fabiana was selected to serve as the official interpreter for President George W. Bush, Mrs. Laura Bush and the former president of Spain, José María Aznar, during an international event for the George W. Bush Presidential Center. Since then, Fabiana has continued to work with the Center on other translation and interpretation projects.
In 2015, Fabiana became part of the faculty of the Modern Language Department at the University of Texas in Arlington, teaching the class Advanced Spanish for Spanish Speakers.
In 2016 Fabiana published her first book of fiction, a bilingual collection of short stories called 12 Random Words / 12 Palabras al Azar.
Fabiana speaks five languages: Spanish, English, French, Portuguese and Italian and has degrees in Ancient Greek and Latin. Languages and life are synonyms for her and she is happy to have found the way to combine love, life and work in such a pleasant way. -
Vivian Oliveira
TRANSLATOR
Vivian was born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She studied at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro where she received her degree in Business Administration.
In 1997 she moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where she began teaching Portuguese and performing Portuguese translations and interpretation. In the same year Vivian met Fabiana and became her student. Years later, after having become proficient in Spanish, Vivian taught Portuguese as a second language applying and adapting with success the same teaching methods that Fabiana had designed for her Spanish lessons.
In line with her language activities, Vivian has worked for many years in renowned international companies mostly in the Information/Technology area. In addition to her fascination with languages, her hobbies include dancing, reading, movies and theater and she enjoys the company of friends.
Vivian is trilingual and constantly uses Portuguese, Spanish and English in her personal and professional life. At Talk-Active LLC, Vivian is in charge of translations that require Portuguese either as the language of origin or destination. -
Sean Barrett
TRANSLATOR - INTERPRETER
Sean was born in Brussels, Belgium and raised in a bilingual household, speaking French with his mother and English with his father. Sean spent his childhood attending both French and American schools in the United States, Greece and France. He received a B.A. from McGill University and a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center, and recently spent over three years practicing law in Paris, where he also passed the French bar examination. Sean currently lives in Dallas with his family, and is raising his sons to be bilingual in French and English. A practicing attorney, Sean is also active in the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the French-American Chamber of Commerce. At Talk-Active, Sean is in charge of English-French translations.

Vanessa Lewin
TRANSLATOR
Vanessa was born in Tel Aviv, Israel to a French family. When she was 12, her family returned to Lyon, France. Vanessa speaks five languages: French, English, Hebrew, German and Spanish. After obtaining a joint J.D from Université Lyon III where she graduated with High Honors and Boston University of Law, she passed the bar exam in Paris and completed a masters in Business Law from Sorbonne University School of Law. She then worked for the law firm of Jones, Day, Reaves and Pogue in Paris. Now living in the United States, she devotes herself to her other passions – Jewish Montessori education and languages. At Talk-Active, Vanessa is mostly in charge of French and Hebrew translations.

Martha Ann Guerrero
TRANSLATOR - INSTRUCTOR
Martha was born in Del Rio, Texas. She earned a B.A. in French from Austin College (Go, Roos!) in Sherman, Texas. Her junior year in college was spent abroad in Lyon, France, where she studied at the Centre International D’Etudes Françaises, Université Lumière Lyon II. Upon reentering the U.S. with a renewed understanding of the importance of her own culture, she set out to relearn her native tongue by working to serve her community in the world of non-profits. To date Martha has had the privilege of working with the community in various capacities including successfully implementing a parental involvement program still used in the D.I.S.D. Martha is certified a Master Trainer by Langevin Learning Services.
In her spare time, Martha loves learning the quirks of her “new” 86 year-old home and holding hands with her forever sweetheart/husband while walking their pugs in their wonderful neighborhood.
Martha is perfectly bilingual and speaks Spanish and English in her personal and work life. At Talk-Active LLC, Martha is in charge of Spanish transcripts and translations and language lessons for children.
